VIKTORIA SLOPITSKA

Producer

 

Viktoria Slopitska was born in Ukraine in 1970. She graduated from the National Theatre, Cinema and Television University, the production department. Viktoria started a career in the film industry in 1990. During 2003–2007 she worked as a chief specialist of the department of analysis and examination of the economics of public procurement programs at the Department of Cinematography of Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.

 

Since 2008 she works in Ukraine as the producer and director of cinema and television, senior teacher of the National Theatre, Cinema and Television University. She lives in Ukraine and works as a producer and film director for cinema and television. Since 2020 Viktoria works for PARADOX Film production as a producer.

MAX RUDENKO

Film Director

 

Max Rudenko was born in Mykolayiv, Ukraine. He graduated from the School of Cinema and Television in 2009, where he studied documentary film directing.

 

He continued to study at the Gerasimov State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), the Cinematography Department and graduated in 2015. He lives in Ukraine and works as documentary film director and cinematographer.

A STORY OF A DREAMER:
A SKI JUMPER WHO ONCE TOOK OFF
AND DOES NOT WANT TO LAND

 

SYNOPSIS

 

Vasyl is a former ski jumper, who now works as a coach at the ski jumping school for children in the Carpathians. He lives far away from the civilization and the mountains are the source of his vitality. Vasyl is a loner, and sports is all his life. Thanks to Vasyl’s efforts, the ski jump and the sports school are still working.

 

Zhenya is a favourite Vasyl’s trainee. For five years he spent lots of energy to make her a champion. With her success, his dream comes true. She goes further in her career and starts working with another coach. The relationships of Zhenya and Vasyl are gradually changing. The girl grows up, and her motivation is not as strong as it was: she decides to try the career of an actress. Vasyl’s work seems to no longer make sense. But he founds the strength to start all over again.
